Martin is deeply technical and passionate about both computing and life, both here on earth and also extraterrestrial possibilities. While he didn’t work at a spaceport, he got close: Mr. Loeffler led information security at Toronto-Pearson International Airport, the 9th-busiest airport in North America (47 million pax; 2018.) Thanks to that work and also having provided information security services to the Government of Ontario (pop. 14 million) and leading info-sec at the University of Toronto (19th-ranked reputation globally), Martin’s work improved the security and privacy of millions upon millions of Canadians, immigrants to Canada, and visitors to Canada….around the clock. Mr. Loeffler holds a Master of Information degree from the University of Toronto, specializing in Identity, Privacy and Security. His research included the fundamentals of info-sec; the economics of info-sec; and big data and AI and the ethical/privacy impacts of these technologies. He holds CISSP, CISM, CISA, and CRISC certifications.
